PHOTOS Sensei Keinosuke Enoeda, 9th Dan JKA11 April 2012
Here's a cracking photo of sensei Enoeda that I haven't seen before. I found it on Twitter (and we're @wigankarateclub - so get following!).
I was lucky enough to be dan-graded by sensei Enoeda as well as being taught by him on a few courses over the years. For those of you that don't know who he was, he was a world famous karate fighter and instructor in the Japan Karate Association, winner of the All Japan Karate Championships and famously described by sensei Nakayama as The Tiger. Until his death in 2003, sensei Enoeda had been the chief karate instructor in the Karate Union of Great Britain.
The photo was taken by Bernard Rose for a Martial Arts magazine and is used with kind permission. For more of his photos, visit: http://www.bernardrosephotography.co.uk

NEWS A short review of the February All Grades Course, Bath28 February 2012
It was a packed day with over 200 karate students. After the warm-up, sensei Ohta took the black belts for the first session, with the main focus on hip rotation - ensuring that the hips turn at the same level and correct form to produce a fast, strong technique. More... |
